It's taking the easy route. It's easy (and stupid) to say no to balls. It's much more difficult to tackle the subject of bullying and teach a group of children about respect for their peers. Statistics say that our children aren't getting enough physical activity, so why ban a major part of the physical activity that they ARE getting? Instead of concentrating on the small issue of hard balls, why don't these parents turn their attention to something bigger - like playground bullying? I'm sure bullying hurts more children (both physically and emotionally) than a random ball from a game of soccer. It's time parents get their priorities straight and see what's really hurting their children! The idea of banning all hard balls from school is just plain ridiculous.
